DLR – Cardiac support system
DUALIS was created as a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). This laid the foundation for developing technologies for space travel and transferring them to medical technology. The heart support system developed by DUALIS is a good example of the potential that basic research for space travel offers for other areas. In the future, this artificial heart is expected to reduce the number of deaths among patients waiting for a donor heart.
CAT PRODUCTION visualized how the cardiac support system works, as well as the structure, function, and common diseases of the human heart.
An extended version of the film is shown in schools and training centers.
